The New Media Caucus is a non-profit, international membership organization formed to advance the conceptual and artistic use of digital media. The caucus represents artists whose media are expanding with developments in digital technology and artists working in newly emerging media such as robotics, virtual reality, interactive and installation environments as well as artists working in established digital areas of video, sound and graphics. By providing a forum for the critical review of new media practice, the caucus increases the visibility and presence of new media practitioners.

The New Media Caucus received a record number of panel proposals for the 1.5 hour open sessions at CAA 2010 in Chicago. Thank you, members for your contributions in this regard. Of the many excellent proposals, the NMC Executive team chose four panels to be presented by the NMC at CAA in Chicago and we would like to congratulate the chairs whose panels were selected:

(4) Call for Panel Proposals: CAA NYC 2011
CAA allows the NMC to provide a letter of support to one panel proposal being considered for the New York City 2011 conference. If supported by the NMC, the chances of being accepted by CAA are accelerated. If chosen by CAA, the panel will be listed as a NMC sponsored session.
At this point in time, the NMC is inviting its members to forward their panel proposals to the executive team by August 1st, 2009 - before sending them to CAA. The NMC executive team will review all the panel proposals it receives by August 1st, 2009 and will respond by August 12th, 2009; well in advance of the September 1st, 2009 deadline from CAA. The panel proposal selected by the NMC executive team will receive a letter of support to be added to your proposal application sent in to CAA by September 1st, 2009.
