New Media Caucus Awards 2025 Exhibition
For the last six years the New Media Caucus has dedicated itself to support BIPOC students, artists and academics in their pursuit of professional excellence. As part of these efforts, the Judson‑Morrissey Excellence in New Media Award (students) and the Vagner Mendonça‑Whitehead Microgrant Fund (artists and scholars at any stage) were created as a way to live up to this mission and give back to the community. As part of the award, the winners are also given visibility through members spotlights, and the annual awards exhibition you are about to experience.
This year, our winners represent a variety of heritages, identities and ideologies, making this exhibition an eclectic one—a characteristic this show chose to embrace rather than impose a top‑down narrative. Connecting themes of identity, memory, childhood, metaphysics, and digital ephemerality amongst other concepts, these artists pour out themselves into their work to give us a vibrant display of their talents and themselves.
All of us at New Media Caucus and Header/Footer Gallery want to thank you for your continued support and donations that allow us to continue to platform and financially support artists for years to come.
