Assistant Professor of Time-based Media (Studio Art Department)

The Art Department at Hamilton College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2027. We seek candidates with an expertise in time-based media as an artistic practice, and who integrate analog and emergent technologies in their practice and curricula. The candidate will be expected to teach video and animation at both the introductory and advanced level, and contribute to shared departmental courses, including our junior and senior level curricula, and to the College’s interdisciplinary programs in Digital Arts and Cinema Media Studies. Preference will be given to candidates that can also teach photography at the introductory level.

MFA and a minimum of two years teaching experience at the college level required. The teaching load for this position is four courses during the first year and five courses thereafter. The expected 9-month base salary range for this position is $94,500 to $100,360.
