We are a 4-year undergraduate program within the department of Entertainment Technology, with focus areas in Game Development, Experiential Media, and Computer Music.
We have potential openings in the courses listed below. All courses take place in Voorhees Hall at 186 Jay Street in Brooklyn, New York.

MTEC 1102 Design Foundations II
Design Foundations II serves as the second course in a two-part series for Emerging Media Technology majors. Emphasizing project-based learning, this course equips students with fundamental concepts, skills, and design processes essential for creating digital and interactive media. Integrating creative methodologies with critical thinking, students prepare for a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
Instructors should be experienced in video and motion graphics, sound design using a DAW, UX/UI web/mobile prototyping, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, XD).
Section day/time: Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-11:40 AM.
MTEC 1201 Computer Programming for Interactive Media I
Introduces students to foundational programming concepts and techniques, with a focus on coding for creative applications. Students design, develop, and code interactive software experiences integrating computer graphics, image assets, text and fonts, and additional digital media. Programming for Interactive Media is the first in a sequence of coding courses for the Emerging Media Technology program, preparing students for advanced coursework in the program.
Instructors should be experienced with JavaScript programming fundamentals through Object Oriented Programming, the p5.js library, GitHub.

MTEC 2250 Digital Fabrication
This project-oriented course focuses on digital fabrication and prototyping for emerging media. Students explore 3D design tools and techniques for computer-controlled fabrication such as CNC machining, laser cutting, and 3D printing. Experimenting with a variety of prototyping processes, students learn to actualize their designs through multiple methodologies.
Section day/time: Fridays 10-11:40 and 12-1:40
ENT 3106 Technical Production
This lab-based course provides an opportunity for students to apply the skills they’ve acquired while pursuing their degree to a collaboratively implemented project. Guided by the course instructor, students take on roles within the project team and contribute to hands-on development. Projects may focus on areas such as game development, experiential media, computer music, or other emerging media technologies. Throughout the semester, students engage in research and development, culminating in a final presentation at the MTEC Spring Show.
If interested in this course, please apply with a brief project proposal. Interdisciplinary projects involving multiple MTEC focus areas will be prioritized.

The BTech in Emerging Media Technologies is a four-year undergraduate program at New York City College of Technology, City University of New York (CUNY). We are focused on creating the next generation of creative technologists for the expanding emerging media industries of New York City and beyond.
