Chanee Choi (Chanhee Choi) is an award-winning artist and educator whose transdisciplinary practice spans immersive media, XR, AI, and interactive installation. Her work explores feminist ritual, memory, and identity through hybrid storytelling that merges craft with emerging technologies. Originally from South Korea, Chanee holds a Ph.D. in Art and Technology from the University of Washington’s DXARTS, an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a BFA from Dongduk Women’s University in Seoul. She is currently Assistant Professor of Digital Arts at the University at Albany (SUNY), where she teaches and conducts research at the intersection of art, technology, and embodied experience. Her work has been featured in WIRED, Seattle Times, GeekWire, UW News, KUOW NPR, and KING-TV, and presented at ISEA, SIGGRAPH Asia, and the NYX Awards, with honors including the 2024 Women in STEM Award and the Judson-Morrissey Excellence in New Media Award.
