Associate Professor of Digital Media for Performance, University of Iowa
Daniel is an artist, teacher, and creative technologist working in immersive physical/virtual environments, site-specific locations, and installations for interactive users and audiences. He is an Associate Professor with tenure of Digital Media in Performance at the University of Iowa in Theatre Arts, Dance, and Cinematic Arts for which he is the certificate coordinator. He is the co-author of Digital Media, Projection Design & Technology for Theatre, now in the second edition. His work has been seen throughout the USA, England, Mexico, and the 2019 Prague Quadrennial. He has been recognized as a “Creative disruptor driving path-breaking research, teaching and outreach projects…exploding traditional disciplinary boundaries and bringing new audiences into the conversation about building a better future,” by ASU Center for Science and Imagination. His work combines traditional forms of storytelling with that interactive digital media technologies to engage the imaginations and hearts of a twenty-first-century audience.
