Robert Derr is a professor of art and joined the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) as Chair of the Art & Art History Department, then led the formation of the School of Art, Art History & Design as the first director. Prior to UNL, he taught at The Ohio State University for twelve years, where he also served as undergraduate chair and photography area coordinator. He provides service to the National Association of Schools of Art and Design as an external program reviewer, consults as an academic program reviewer, and has served the College Art Association and Nebraska Arts Council. Robert’s research as a visual artist includes performance art from live to intervention, videos, photographs, and multimedia installations. He has exhibited and performed widely at such venues as, the Riga Performance Festival (Latvia), Canberra Contemporary Art Space (Australia), Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt (Germany), Wexner Center for the Arts (US), and LIVE Performance Art Biennale (Canada).
