CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS: 2027 New Media Caucus Showcase

The 2027 New Media Caucus Showcase will be held at Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts (EFA) in New York City on Thursday, February 4, 2027, 7:00-8:30pm. This is a hybrid event with Zoom participation. Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 pm EST on Friday, October 23rd, 2026.

The NMC Showcase is a series of rapid-fire, 6-minute presentations by NMC members. Participants will present either in person at EFA in New York City or online via Zoom. It has proven to be an excellent forum to get to know the work of other new media artists and scholars in a lively atmosphere. Everyone is welcome to apply, including graduate students currently enrolled in MFA or Ph.D. programs. Due to the short presentation slots, presenters may only present one work, rather than a retrospective of their careers. Ten presenters will be chosen: 5 in person and 5 on Zoom.

Presentation proposals will be juried by New Media Caucus board members. We ask you to submit a brief description of the project you will present, along with a relevant URL to work samples. We also ask you to submit a brief statement outlining how your work relates to the NMC mission and/or diversity statements (see below).

Selected participants will be required to become NMC Members through the NMC’s Pay-What-You-Can membership program. No one will be turned away for lack of funding.

This event is free and open to the public. No CAA registration is required.

Presenters are chosen by application. Only members that have not participated in the showcase in the past three years are eligible.

DEADLINE: The deadline for submissions is Friday, October 23, 2026, 11:59 pm EST
SELECTION NOTIFICATION: Submissions will be reviewed by members of the New Media Caucus’ Board of Directors. Selected presenters will be notified by Monday, November 23, 2026
CONFIRMATION: Presenters must confirm their participation by Friday, December 4, 2026
EVENT: The showcase will take place online (a Zoom link will be provided) and in-person (Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts in New York, NY) Thursday, February 4, 2027, from 7:00-8:30 pm EST

MISSION STATEMENT: The New Media Caucus (NMC) is an international non-profit association formed to promote the development and understanding of new media art. We represent and serve: artists, designers, practitioners, historians, theorists, educators, students, and scholars. Recognizing new media art to be inherently interdisciplinary, multimodal, and evolving, we support and advance a wide range of inquiry to catalyze further evolution of the field.
